Studies show that college students who have mentors experience less stress, have better well being later in life, and benefit from advice in their personal and academic lives. However, the problem is often that students don鈥檛 know how to find a mentor.

THE HOPE COLLEGE CONNECTION

As a student at Hope College you can access , an innovative online community for calling and career that brings together students, alumni and families for mentoring and experiential learning. 

This tool facilitates career-related conversations between you and others in the Hope community and gives you an opportunity to seek advice, explore careers and industries, and network with individuals in a certain geographic area.

THE MENTOR MAP
Take inventory of all the amazing mentors you already have in your life by filling out the Mentor Map designed by The Boerigter Center. This map can also reveal areas that you might need guidance and mentorship, giving you an opportunity to get connected. Not sure where to start? CENTER FOR MINISTRY STUDIES MENTORING
Each student accepted into the studies in ministry minor will be paired with a mentor from the Holland and/or Hope community in a relationship that will last two years. Learn more.
FACES

FACES (Fostering A Community of Excellence in Science) at Hope is a peer mentoring program specifically designed to create a community for students of color who are pursuing a degree in a STEM field. The goals of FACES are to facilitate connections to the Natural and Applied Science Division, Hope College and the Holland community. Participants in FACES receive an upper-class student mentor who has walked the path that you are currently beginning, allowing for conversations about the ins and outs of classes, studying, clubs/organizations and so much more. FIRST GENERATION STUDENT MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Calling all first-generation students! You are exceptional, not an exception, and we want to support you as you navigate the transition from high school to Hope College. The First-Generation Student Mentorship Program pairs first-gen students with a faculty or staff mentor (most of whom are also first-generation). In year one, you will get to know your mentor as well as other first-generation students in a small mentoring cohort. STEP2SUCCESS FRESHMAN

Step2Success is a program for incoming freshmen of color as they venture into Hope College. The Step2Success Mentoring Program will provide opportunities for students to create one-on-one relationships with upperclassmen who can relate to their journey, help them be successful and develop a community of support!
