Hope alumni know that their relationships with the college and with each other do not end at graduation.

Alumni have proven generous with their time and advice to students and fellow graduates. Through lifelong learning and career development, relationships formed at Hope change lives both on campus and in communities everywhere. Tapping into the potential of this network is a powerful way to bring your career to life.

When you graduate with a Hope degree or complete at least 45 credits, you are officially a member of the Alumni Association. It’s free and an automatic part of your lifelong relationship with Hope. As a member, the college and alumni volunteers will work hard to keep you in touch with your inner Dutch through events, affinity connections and career resources.

You can stay connected and be an active member by activating your profile on , making plans to connect at a Hope event, and exploring ways you can get involved.

    Retired English Professor Nancy Nicodemus Dies

    Nancy Nicodemus, a professor emerita of English who after 33 years as a dedicated teacher and mentor at Hope went on to earn an additional degree of her own from the college in retirement, died on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023. She passed away peacefully two days short of her 89th birthday, after extended care at home and a brief stay in hospice care at Resthaven Care Center in Holland, Michigan.

    Professor and Students Receive Statewide Health/PE Educator Awards

    Recently retired Hope College professor Nancy Kamstra has been named University Educator of the Year by SHAPE (Society of Health and Physical Educators) Michigan. She received the recognition at the same time that the statewide organization honored two of her students — seniors Clayton Dykhouse of Zeeland and Emily Dieffenbach of Grand Rapids — with Future Professional of the Year awards.
