Digital Media Lab
Van Wylen Library’s Digital Media Lab (DML), located on the 2nd floor, is staffed by students and is open to all Hope College faculty, staff and students.
All are welcome to explore and engage with technology in the lab. Our lab has several different multimedia creation tools in addition to data analysis and visualization software, including access to a Cricut Maker and Heat Press.
Make a Reservation
Reserve access to the Sound Room ahead of time through EMS. Walk-up reservations for the day of will be available on a tablet outside of the Sound Room.

The Digital Media Lab is equipped to support student projects. Our student staff offer peer-to-peer consultations. The design of the lab provides workstations equipped for project creation and editing. We offer access to a Sound Room which includes an private studio space with equipment to explore and engage in multimedia podcast recording/editing, in addition to Sibelius and Finale software for music creation. We offer access to 8 computer workstations, 4 iMacs, and 4 Windows Computers. The lab workstations are available for use during library hours. Workstations have the following software available:

An enclosed private space is available with high-quality audio/video recording. The studio accommodates 1–3 people and includes a 27" iMac, ring light, podcasting technology and software including a keyboard for music creation and software editing/recording.
Reservations are encouraged ahead of time. Or quick reserve is available the day of on a tablet in front of the room. You may access this room by requesting a key at the Digital Media Lab desk. We will hold your Hope ID until you are finished using the space.

DML Hours
Lab open all hours the library is open. Digital assistance and "for cost" desk services (color printing, cricut materials, lamination) open the following hours:
