Prevention Education

Hope College鈥檚 violence prevention education program works to build the capacity of the campus community to prevent violence, support survivors and shift our community culture to one of care, consent and respect.

Sexual, relationship and domestic violence affects each of us. 六和合彩开奖记录 is committed to being a welcoming, vibrant and caring community for all of our community members providing an educational environment free from discrimination and violence.

Although we are making progress toward ending violence on our campus, there is much work to do. You can help prevent violence in our community and support our mission by learning more and getting involved in violence prevention efforts.

Student, staff and faculty groups can request one of the workshops described below to be delivered by Hope鈥檚 prevention educator (or trained student peer educators) and adapted to your group or audience. If you are interested in booking a workshop, or if you are interested in a workshop or program topic that is not listed below, please fill out our Workshop Request form.

Healthy Relationships Workshop:Relationship Goals
Awareness programs consist of campus-wide programming, initiatives and opportunities aimed to increase knowledge of resources and information to prevent forms of violence, promote safety and reduce perpetration of violence.
Bystander Intervention Workshop
Bystander intervention is a community-oriented approach to violence prevention and promoting a community of safety and respect. These skills can be carried out by an individual or a group of individuals to prevent harm and reduce the risk of a potentially harmful situation from getting worse. This includes recognizing potential harmful behaviors and situations, recognizing barriers or obstacles to intervening, identifying safe and effective options for intervening, and taking action to intervene
Responding to Disclosures & Supporting Survivors
Did you know that the first person most survivors disclose their story to is a peer or trusted adult in their life and not a professional? In this training, you will have the opportunity to learn how to navigate these difficult conversations in order to support individuals who have experienced sexual violence and connect them to supportive resources.
